After the end of a long week: I renewed my Carte de Sejour, braved the hectic but incredibleMarchรฉ St. Pierre at the foot of Montmarteโ€ฆand tried to get an answer about why after 10 days, I still donโ€™t have internet access or cable tv.

With all that stress, I felt it was an absolute necessity to visit Ladurรฉe twice this week, especially since all my homemade chocolate macarons got wolfed down at a friendโ€™s birthday party and I forgot to stash away a few for myself. I needed to get my fixโ€ฆand I needed it fast.

But sometimes life tosses the weak a life preserver, namely chocolate-covered macarons โ€“ where have they been all my life?

oh yes. chocolate covered macarons just 8 days away from me.

Another example of how almost anything can be made better if you cover it in chocolate. (I say โ€œalmostโ€ because Iโ€™ve never understood chocolate covered bugs. That doesnโ€™t make the bugs taste better, just makes the chocolate worse. Admittedly, Iโ€™ve never tried one. :P)

    This is killing me. *sob*

Is that an extra layer of fudge or chocolate on top of the macaroon? What a great idea. I bet the chocolate prevents the cookie from getting crumbly, thus lengthening the shelf life. People ask me to ship them macaroons all the time, but I canโ€™tโ€“theyโ€™ll go bad too fast.

Truly a gift from the gods! I wish they would descend upon me!

Woah. Just when I thought that Ladureeโ€™s salted caramel macaroons and pistachio macaroons cannot get any better, it does.

Congratulations on getting your Carte de Sejour. Just donโ€™t cover that in chocolate.
