    Hi, David!

    I’m Angeles from Argentina. I followed your recipe for the pecan pie at Food+Wine as you suggested to me… and it come out as a poem to my invited guests.

    The crust was the typical crunchy one, brisé. The filling… I can only describe it as a ganache… smooth yet with the touch of the tip of the fork little crumbles will fall around… de-li-cious!

    I served warm with a whipped cream that I added some mirim and cardamom. Awesome! Thanks for your email!!

    A friend’s grandmother once excused herself from a fancy tea with several other older women by using the verb “faire pipi”. I just about spit out my drink.

    Monsieur Lebovitz, I am SO THROUGH with the “pipi” in the streets out here. It’s suffocating when the streets are hot from the summer sun, too.

    And don’t even get me started on the French doggypoo. I’m surprised that I haven’t stepped in a pile of it already…

    I seriously think being from NYC has served me well in that regard. Before we had pooper-scooper laws and before scooping up the poop actually became trendy and sophisticated, we were dodging dogpoop out there in the streets of NYC.

    Now, ironically, I’m doing the dodging out here in France. :o(

    Hello – Not really a pipi related comment, but I wanted to say thank you for your fab recommendations of delicious things to eat in Paris, I’ve been working through them happily having just moved here. I’ve just got back from L’Etoile d’Or. Denise Acabo was so lovely and helpful despite my still terrible French, and I left having spent more on caramel and chocolate than I probably have in the last year! She also wanted to know where I’d heard about her shop, and when I told her it was on your blog she pulled out photos and newspaper clippings of you! Thanks!

    Just wanted to comment on Karina’s comments. I too have been using your blog as a Paris guide to all things edible, and when I visited Mme. Acabo and mentioned that I had heard about her shop from your blog, she immediately pulled out your “Great Book of Chocolate” and smiled from ear to ear.

    She is so great, explaining everything about Bernachon chocolates and LeRoux CBS to me, and told me when to come back to get a fix of all the stuff she was out of after re-opening after les vacances.
