Likeโ€ฆ.Brigitte Bardot!

As the shops re-do their store windows after les soldes, in their half-finished state, thereโ€™s always a little note (usually hand-written), saying something along the lines of, โ€œPlease excuse us, the window display is in the midst of rรฉalisationโ€ An elderly couple, parents of a friend who live across the street, invited me for dinner last night. Both are in their early 80โ€™s and theirโ€ฆ

What is White Chocolate?

ย  Some people love it, and others leave it. Yes, itโ€™s White Chocolate, that controversial melange of cocoa butter, sugar, and milk (more on that later). Often thereโ€™s vanilla, or vanillin (a synthetic vanilla-like substance) added as well. And Americans tend toโ€ฆ

Le Rubis: Paris Wine Bar

Itโ€™s perhaps not much of a secret anymore that some of the best places to eat in Paris are the wine bars. Unlike some of the โ€˜wine barsโ€™ in the US (where that glass of oaky California Chardonnay will run you $14โ€ฆnot including tax and tip), Parisโ€™ wine bars are gathering places, where people might stop in the morning after the market for a friendlyโ€ฆ
