You may have noticed a couple of explicit comments here on the site (more than the usual ones that I leaveโ€ฆ)

Although Iโ€™ve closed comments for older posts due to spam, now theyโ€™re appearing in recent ones, which I delete as soon as possible. (Yesterday I deleted 4785 junk messages.) Iโ€™m adding a comment verification feature shortly which should alleviate the problems, since I welcome and enjoy all your comments very much!

Consequently, many emails are not reaching me as well, for some reason, or are being returned as undeliverable. I donโ€™t know. If youโ€™ve recently sent an inquiry, please check the FAQโ€™s in the Category box (to the left) which may provide an answer to your question, or leave a comment here.

I have something called Akismat spam handler and it does a good job after a bit of tweaking. For a while it was putting all my comments in the spam folder, but it finally forgave and accepted me for the empress I am.
Who buys from these people? With drugs turning out sometimes fake at US pharmacies, who would be fool enough to buy them from these bandits?
Iโ€™d like to have an antispam moment when all users who donโ€™t spam send long tirades to the fake addresses all at once.

You have my deepest sympathy, David โ€“ we are suffering from the same problem over at TMC. Iโ€™ve been blaming my partner Barrett for not pulling his weight but perhaps Iโ€™ve been unfair and itโ€™s just an increase in volume. Either way itโ€™s REALLY irritating. If Dante were around today, Iโ€™m SURE heโ€™d invent a special level of hell for them, where they are poked and prodded all day long with sharp needles. While being hassled by telemarketers. Yeahโ€ฆ

this is completely unrelated, but I thought I might ask you anywayโ€ฆ

Iโ€™ve been living in France for the past 6 months, as a nanny. I am returning to the US in one month and I have to buckle down and finish school (2 more years!) and afterwards, I have no idea what Iโ€™ll be doing. I always thought I would come back to France as a nanny, again. However, this experience has tired me quite abit and Iโ€™d rather not work as a nanny.

Do you know about the type of work availible in France (Paris, in particular) availibe to a young american, freshly college graduated? Is there any? Getting an au-pair visa was relatively easyโ€ฆ but Iโ€™ve heard most other work visas are almost impossible.

Hi Claire: In my FAQโ€™s (upper left category box) I recommend a book on Living and Working in France which I found has lots of useful tips. Hope that helps!
