#3: Grom Gelato Comes to Paris

This week, Grom opens a branch of their famous Italian shop in Paris. I first tasted their exquisiteโ€ฆ

Chocolate Dipped White Chocolate-Berry Popsicles

Of course, I picked the hottest day of the summer to make popsicles. After the success of my Vietnamese coffee popsicles, I thought itโ€™d be fun to try something dipped in chocolate. In retrospect, am I insane? Our summer in Paris has been uneven; some cool days, and a few nice warm ones. Unfortunately the day I decided to make chocolate-dipped popsicles was the oneโ€ฆ

Vietnamese Coffee Popsicles

Well, itโ€™s the end of July and Paris has, at long last, warmed up. Itโ€™s actually so warm here thatโ€”get this: a few Parisians actually went out without scarves tied up around their necks! While weโ€™re all enjoying the Parisian sunshine, I took a stroll aroundย Belleville, a lively multicultural neighborhood in Paris where there are lots of Paris Pas Cher shops; huge variety stores whereโ€ฆ

Candied Bacon Ice Cream Recipe

Who doesnโ€™t like bacon and eggs? Ok, maybe vegans. And folks who are kosher. And people who donโ€™t eat eggs. Or those who donโ€™t like bacon. But Iโ€™m not sure thatโ€™s possible. (I have a great bacon joke, but itโ€™s not โ€˜pcโ€™, so Iโ€™d better keep it to myself.) Iโ€™m a big fan of both bacon and the beautiful, bright-orange yolked eggs we get inโ€ฆ

Plum Kernel Ice Cream Recipe

Last month, I received an invitation to visit the French Sรฉnat where laws are debated and decided on, or not. Like most of the government buildings here in Paris, this is one spectacular. Itโ€™s very ornate with lots of gilding and chandeliers and gardens that are plucked and shaved within an inch of their life. Gardens are well-manicured in France and are meant to beโ€ฆ
