Really now, they could have at least switched the order of the lettersโ€ฆthen it could be OUR place. David & Val!!!

    I donโ€™t know, I hear itโ€™s pretty good.

    Order the crab salad.

One place in the States that I canโ€™t understand the appeal of is the Cheesecake Factory. Why anyone would want to patronize a restaurant thatโ€™s equating its food to mass produced assembly line crap is beyond me, but maybe I donโ€™t understand because Iโ€™m not that crazy about cheesecake in the first place.

Mmmโ€ฆ the many flavors of venereal disease. You wouldโ€™ve thought theyโ€™d think or something more appetizing.

I burst out laughing when I saw this, it may be that if a French person saw a restaurant named M&V in the US, theyโ€™d have the same reaction. ;)

I have a burning desire to go there.

There used to be a Chinese restaurant by my parents house called South Wind, the source of endless amusement to my 7-year old, and hell, who are we kidding, current self.

Iโ€™ve read interesting things about this restaurant. Iโ€™m itching to try it.

If that restaurant was in Chinatown, it would be called โ€œNumber One VDโ€ or โ€œVD A-OK!โ€ or โ€œVD 2000.โ€

(Iโ€™m Chinese so perhaps I get a pass at making fun of own my race?)

There used to be a mom-and-pop restaurant in my hometown called โ€œRalphโ€™s.โ€ It didnโ€™t last long.

And I never understood the naming of that now closed cafeteria-style restaurant Furrโ€™s.

Anything furry would make me ralph, for sure.

would you please explain what is VD for your non native english speakers ? :)

I understand from the comments that this is some kind of disease, but thats all.

    • Elizabeth

    krysalia,
VD stands for venereal disease, i.e. sexually transmitted diseases.

How proud I am that this ends up being my first comment.

    • Fabrice

Well David, you would be wrong to let these shameful jokes deter you and sully this establishmentโ€™s good name. In fact i hear itโ€™s a pretty good seafood restaurant and the clams there leave quite an impression !

    Sorry, couldnt resist.
