Paris Book Event This Weekend

This Sunday, December 6th from 3-5pm, I’ll be doing a booksigning with Heather Stimmler-Hall of Secrets of Paris, author of The Naughty Paris Guide, and Keith Spicer, author of Paris Passions.

We’ll be hosted by Context Travel in Paris and Oliver Magny of O-Château, who will be providing libations (ie: wine).

Since it’s the holidays, if you’re good, I might even bring some Friendship Bars…depending on whether you’ve been naughty or nice.

The wine cave is located at 52, re de l’Arbre Sec (map) and is a good chance to get your holiday shopping done early—give ’em signed books!

There will be copies of The Sweet Life in Paris, The Perfect Scoop (€20 ea), and The Great Book of Chocolate (€12) for sale in limited quantities. You’re welcome to bring copies of the books if you have them.

    Bummer! I’ll be in Paris Dec 18th through Christmas. Will you be holding any other book signing events then? I love the Sweet Life in Paris! I’ll be bringing it along to read (again!) during the plane ride and hopefully, get to bump into you in Paris for a signature! ;-)

    Whew! I have now read the entire blog! It has been great fun and I’ve spent most of the time alternating among drooling, laughing and bookmarking recipes to try. Thank you! And more thanks for your absolutely clear and perfect instructions for dry caramel, which I used for a Thanksgiving dessert.

    I’ve caught up just in time, since my family and I are headed to Paris in less than 3 weeks. (Hooray!) I suppose at some point, I should think about something other than where we should eat. But in the meantime. . . we’re staying on the north side of the Place des Vosges and I pretty much had Au Levain du Marais picked out as “our bakery” based on the winning combination of proximity and deliciousness. Sounds like it will still work for our morning croissants, but do you have any new nearby recommendations for bread?

    I read your post about where to find a good cup of coffee, but nothing seems to work, either because it’s too far away to ask my 8 year old to walk or because it’s closed in the AM, so I was wondering if you would be so kind as to share any thoughts you have about a place not too far from the Place des Vosges to get a decent coffee and hot chocolate in the mornings.

    Hi Marcia: In my post, Where to find a good cup of coffee in Paris, I list Cuba Compagnie which is 2-3 blocks from the place des Vosges. I don’t know about their hot chocolate though (it’s likely from a mix).

    Is there anywhere in Paris that regularly stocks your books (had a useless trip to WH Smith yesterday). Not sure I can make it to the signing tho desperately trying to get my hands on two of the books before December 12.

    Things are going to be shaking this weekend at that address! Wine tasting at Spring Boutique (street level) on Saturday, and book signing on Sunday. One would think that Mery and Daniel could talk a few people into helping get some work done at the new Spring resto around the corner while they are in the neighborhood. Four of my favorite blogs converging on one piece of Parisian Real Estate in one weekend…and I am stuck outside of Motown!

    Hi David…I wanted to express my sincerest gratitude to you for writing your latest book, Sweet Life… I was in Paris for six days over Thanksgiving and I used your Mes Bonnes Adresses section extensively to help direct myself and my best girlfriend to your favorite/suggested places! Thanks again for helping in navigating the infinite number of patisseries and boulangeries in Paris. I hope to return again to try out all of the other places you have on your website and the ones I didn’t get to in your book.
