Restaurant Jadis

Iโ€™m not much for standard restaurant โ€œreviewsโ€. I think dining is a personal experience and while one person might find a dish excellent, it might not be to another personโ€™s liking. Some folks like loud, hip places, and Iโ€™m more inclined to hit the classics. Another thing is that when I go out, I donโ€™t always tote my camera or want to have to rememberโ€ฆ

Les Cocottes de Christian Constant

Les Cocottes often gets described as a local version of an American-style diner. I donโ€™t know if thatโ€™s true. For one thing, everyone speaks French. And for another, there were no snappy apron-clad waitresses pouring bottomless cups of coffee, no trucks parked outside, and no plumber-cracks hanging over the backside of the stools. After all, this is Paris, yaโ€™ know. In fact, Les Cocottes sitsโ€ฆ

Where to Find a Great Hamburger in Paris

For those of you who donโ€™t live here, youโ€™re probably scratching your heads as who in their right minds would want a hamburger in Paris. If youโ€™re a visitor, you probably donโ€™t come to Paris in search of a burger (unless youโ€™ve got kids in tow). But Parisians, as well as the rest of us, often get the craving for a nice, juicy patty onโ€ฆ

Two Delicious Dining Guides to Paris

Clotilde Dusoulier is the ultimate Parisian insider, one who shares her tasty tales of life in Paris on her blog, Chocolate and Zucchini. In this very handy guide, a native Parisian happily leads us around Paris, taking us from little-known specialty food shops and classic bistros to authentic Japanese noodle bars and venues for wine tastings. One of my favorite parts of Clotildeโ€™s Edible Adventuresโ€ฆ

Racines

No complaints about the food at Racines. In fact, itโ€™s one of the best places Iโ€™ve eaten in Paris in a long time. Unfortunately I took some of the worst pictures of one of the best-lookingโ€”and probably the most heavily-inkedโ€”restaurateurs in Paris, so youโ€™ll have to go meet Pierre Jancou for yourself.

Breizh Cafe: Buckwheat crepes in Paris

Le Brunch is indeed available at some places in Paris, but Iโ€™m not necessarily at my bestย being around people first thing in the morningโ€”and Iโ€™m not so fond of Le Brunch either. So Iย compromised on the more civilized hour of 1pm for dining on the weekends. Not much is open in Paris on Sunday, so I had suggested Breizh Cafรฉ, a tidy corner spot specializingโ€ฆ

Lโ€™Entredgeu

One of the best restaurants in Paris is one that I have a hard time recommending. Itโ€™s not that the food isnโ€™t consistently very good-to-excellent. Nor is the service anything less than friendly and sincere. One problem with Lโ€™Entredgeu is that itโ€™s way up in the 17th, pretty much away from everything else. Thatโ€™s relatively minor, though. The big problem for me is the name;โ€ฆ

3 San Francisco Ethnic Eateries

You can find good Vietnamese food in Paris, and there are a couple of nice addresses for Chinese food as well, but if thereโ€™s a good Korean bbq in the City of Light, that kalbi has yet to singe my lips. When I come back to San Francisco, people ask me if Iโ€™m interested in trying the newest, hottest, most au courant restaurants in townโ€ฆ.

Paris Pas Cher: 8 Money-Saving Tips for Paris

When I moved to Paris, I was pretty shocked at how expensive things were. And I donโ€™t mean Louis Vuitton suitcases or Kelly bags. Something as simple as a sponge at the supermarket would cost 4โ‚ฌ or a plastic storage container at the BHV might run you 15โ‚ฌ around here. Ouch! Then I learned about the Paris pas cher stores all over town. Although concentratedโ€ฆ
