Here are a few corrections for metric conversions that appear in the first-edition printing of Drinking French. Theyโ€™ve all been corrected in subsequent printings: For the dry ingredients in the Cornmeal Madeleines (page 259), the metric amounts should be (in bold): 1/2 cup (70g) all-purpose or corn flour 1/2 cup (95g) stone-ground cornmeal โ€”โ€“ For the recipes in the book with fresh mint, the conversionsโ€ฆ

Montparnasse Cocktail

This cocktail is named after Montparnasse, an area of Paris where the Gare Montparnasse is situated in, a train station thatโ€™s surrounded by crรชperies. Each train station in Paris serves a different region of France; The gare du Nord serves the North of France, the gare de lโ€™Est serves Alsace, and the gare Saint-Lazare transports people to Normandy.

Drinking French: Paris Book Launch at WHSmith

Iโ€™ll be at WHSmith in Paris next Thursday, celebrating the release of Drinking French: The iconic cocktails, apรฉritifs, and cafรฉ traditions of France, with 160 recipes on February 27th. The event will be from 6 to 7:30pm and include a talk, book signing, and a French cheese and spirits tasting, as well.
