Gentian Fizz

Gentian is a root unearthed in volcanic soil in France. Its bittersweet flavor is very popular in France, sold as liqueurs and apรฉritifs; Suze, Salers, and Avรจze are the most well-known. If youโ€™re in France, Distillerie de Grandmont makes an excellent artisan gentian liqueur that I like very much, but isnโ€™t widely available. (Google it to track a bottle down from online sellers.) Mint Pesto

Holidays always feel like a sprint to me. Perhaps because I spent a lot of time working in restaurant kitchens, holidays donโ€™t feel so much as celebratory, as they do an extra doseย of work.
