Poilaneโ€™s Corn Flour Bread

At some point, weโ€™re all going to have to decide on the same measuring system. Maybe we can make it our New Yearโ€™s resolution? Most of the world is using the metric system while a few holdouts, namely the United States, Liberia, and Burma, are sticking with other systems of measurement. For the record, I know some very good bakers that use cups and tablespoons,โ€ฆ

Weekend Reads

Thanksgiving is (kinda) just around the corner and you can check out this round-up of Thanksgiving Recipes here on the blog. Rather than getting all stressed out, though, maybe think of making lessโ€ฆand having more fun. As a French friend once told me, โ€œWe donโ€™t go out to eat for the food. Twentieth Anniversary of the Blog!

I know I should have baked a cake, or rather, someone else should have baked a cake. But no matter. (Okay, so it matters a littleโ€ฆ) Iโ€™m happy to celebrate the blog turning twenty this month! Iโ€™m not sure how the twenty-year mark snuck up so fast, but it did. Who knew when I started posting a bunch of random thoughts, ramblings, and recipes onlineโ€ฆ

La Cidrerie

When I heard about La Cidrerie, I knew I wanted to go there. I like beer, but I donโ€™t have the same capacity for it as locals do; young people in Paris seem to have no trouble polishing off those pint-plus giant glasses of beer that have become ubiquitous on cafรฉ tables. Cider hasnโ€™t gotten the same attention that beer, wine, and other French beveragesโ€ฆ
