Weekend Links

Iโ€™ve been scrambling to get caught up on, wellโ€ฆeverything. Included on my sizable to-do list is a rather long blog post thatโ€™s hopefully going to be worth the wait. (Ya never knowโ€ฆ) There are also a few tech issues behind-the-scenes here on the blog that need tending to, even though Iโ€™d rather be baking. There isโ€ฆor wasโ€ฆa cashew brittle recipe that didnโ€™t quite work outโ€ฆ

Weekend Reads

Thanksgiving is (kinda) just around the corner and you can check out this round-up of Thanksgiving Recipes here on the blog. Rather than getting all stressed out, though, maybe think of making lessโ€ฆand having more fun. As a French friend once told me, โ€œWe donโ€™t go out to eat for the food. We go out to be with our friends.โ€ Another friend in Paris toldโ€ฆ

Favorite Newsletters

Hoo-boy, a lot has changed in blogging since I started. Back then, people relied on RSS feeds to read blogs. Something changed, and now itโ€™s social media and direct email notification that readers use to connect. I used to think newslettersย were adding yet another โ€“ sigh โ€“ email to my Inbox. But now I find myself looking forward to my favorite newsletters showing up inโ€ฆ

Iโ€™d been to the one in southern California as a kid, back when Disneyland featured things we never dreamed ofโ€ฆ

10 Things to Do If Youโ€™re Stuck in Paris

Yesterday, I was passing through the Place de lโ€™Opรฉra, and saw this mob outside the Air France office. And the line snaked around the block. I took a picture and went home to happily finish packing for my trip, which was going to start tomorrow. I must be living in a volcanic cloud of my own, and indeed, when I woke up, there was anโ€ฆ

10 Romantic (and Sexy) Things to Do In Paris

For those of you who have The Perfect Scoop, you may already be familiar with my friend Heather Stimmler-Hall, who writes the popular website, Secrets of Paris. Sheโ€™s the one who attempted to seduce her Parisian neighbor with a batch of my ice cream. Not that she needs my assistance (I didnโ€™t ask her how it turned out since Iโ€™m such a gentleman, and sheโ€™sโ€ฆ
