When I found out that Cuisinart had released a brand-new model of their ice cream machine, I asked if they would let me give two away on my site. And I was happy when they agreed!

I’ve been using my ICE-50 for a number of years, which is self-refrigerating, so I can make ice cream and sorbet whenever I want and not have to pre-freeze the canister. It’s the machine I relied heavily on when churning up with the recipes in The Perfect Scoop.

The next generation of this machine, the ICE-100 ice cream freezer will churn up 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream or sorbet with the use of an internal compressor. And now that summer is almost here, it’s the perfect time to add an ice cream freezer to your kitchen.

To enter, leave a comment with the name of your favorite flavor of ice cream, sorbet, or sherbet. Only one entry per person is allowed and please leave a valid e-mail address so you can be contacted if you win.

NOTE: The give-away is now closed. The winners were chosen at random, and are Katie S. and Blaine W, who have been contacted. Thanks to all who entered! – dl

The comments will be closed on Tuesday – June 19, 2012, at 6pm Paris time. Please read the rules below carefully before entering.

Nectarine Sorbet

Good luck – and happy churning to the winners!

-David

It’s my birthday today so I think this would be the perfect present! My favorite ice cream – oh is there a favorite when it comes to ice cream? OK – dark chocolate and I love it with lemon sherbet! Happy Birthday to Moi!

I forever love mint chocolate chip. Especially from Graeter’s in Cincinnati, OH.

My favourite ice cream flavour is caramel! Thank you for this opportunity!!!

I just started making homemade ice cream a month or so ago (and it is entirely too much fun!) and I pretty much immediately started wanting a self-refrigerating unit. There are just way too many things I want to try to have to wait for the canister to freeze again!

So far my coworkers favorite has probably been the Malted Milk one from your book or the Key Lime Pie I made the other day.

As for ME, my favorite is any very dark chocolate. However, I’m also partial to lemon, oh and banana, and… um… do I really have to pick just one?

    • Judith keech

I love home made green tea ice cream.

    Mint and chip!

I always return to mint chocolate chip. It has been my favorite since I was a little girl.

I am lactose intolerant, so have been making my own sorbets for years. Now there is lactose free whipping cream available, so I can now indulge in any flavour of ice cream, too – but I’ve really gotten hooked on dark chocolate sorbet. Yum!

    Strawberry cheesecake!

My absolute favorite type of ice cream is rainbow sherbet. I had it all the time as a little girl with my grandpa, so it is not only delicious but brings back great memories as well!

It may be boring to say that chocolate, vanilla, and coffee are three of my favorite flavors (depending on the day), but though I really like many of the inventive flavors that are created out there, the reality is that when I am craving ice cream, it’s these three flavors that stand out, just for being simple and uncomplicated and really yummy.

    • Lina

How appropriate! It wasn’t 15 minutes ago that I made your Piña Colada Sherbet in my Cuisinart ICE-30BC. But wouldn’t I LOVE to be able to make ice cream without pre-freezing the canister – and I could use the extra space in my freezer!

But to answer your question, while I love all ice cream, I think my favorite is chocolate chip.

    Thanks for the opportunity!!
