When I found out that Cuisinart had released a brand-new model of their ice cream machine, I asked if they would let me give two away on my site. And I was happy when they agreed!

I’ve been using my ICE-50 for a number of years, which is self-refrigerating, so I can make ice cream and sorbet whenever I want and not have to pre-freeze the canister. It’s the machine I relied heavily on when churning up with the recipes in The Perfect Scoop.

The next generation of this machine, the ICE-100 ice cream freezer will churn up 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream or sorbet with the use of an internal compressor. And now that summer is almost here, it’s the perfect time to add an ice cream freezer to your kitchen.

To enter, leave a comment with the name of your favorite flavor of ice cream, sorbet, or sherbet. Only one entry per person is allowed and please leave a valid e-mail address so you can be contacted if you win.

NOTE: The give-away is now closed. The winners were chosen at random, and are Katie S. and Blaine W, who have been contacted. Thanks to all who entered! – dl

The comments will be closed on Tuesday – June 19, 2012, at 6pm Paris time. Please read the rules below carefully before entering.

Nectarine Sorbet

Good luck – and happy churning to the winners!

-David

Being lactose intolerant, I thank you, David for the many lactose free recipes in the Perfect Scoop. The pear sorbet is my favorite for its cool, refreshing and subtle flavor. One of my dinner guests enjoyed a trio of pear, cherry (made with coconut milk) and chocolate sorbets I served for dessert so much, he bought an ice cream machine and your book so he could make them himself.

    • lisa

    cardamom ice cream

    • Anne

Oh, so many favorites! But if I have to choose, then it has to be the fantastic lime ice cream I ate gallons of in Croatia. Heaven….and I haven’t quite been able to exactly re-produce it. So the new Cuisinart ice cream maker would enable me to do more “research”!

    • JudyH

    I love coffee ice cream.

    • Jennifer Topping

Wow, what an awesome gift! Even if I don’t win, although sad, I really appreciate your efforts in giving two of us a chance to churn out delicious ice cream with this great machine. This contest is very exciting, indeed.

I own your cookbook, The Perfect Scoop, and love many of the recipes in it. However, I have a thing for caramel. So my (& my family’s) favorite ice cream recipe is your own Salted Butter Caramel Ice Cream. So delicious, rich, and complex in flavor and texture!

I never win anything. But maybe I’ll get lucky this time. My fingers are crossed… : )

    Cheers,
    Jennifer

My favourite is definitely Green Tea. I love it when they tone down the sugar, so you can truly appreciate the fragrance of the tea. The reduced sugar level is also much more refreshing on your palate so you can eat twice as much without feeling guilty. It tastes even better when you eat it on a cold and windy day!

    • brenda

Just about tasting the chocolate almond roca…no the meyer lemon sorbet…hmm so many choices!

    • Abhijith Athreya

My affinity is towards Blue Berry Sorbet.!

    • Shannon Daly

Vanilla buttermilk. Classic but tangy, it complements every fruit dessert imaginable, and i love the look of the vanilla bean flecks. Other faves are huckleberry (amazing colour and flavour), raspberry made with berries from my garden, and vanilla with chocolate almonds and cherries from your book. As my stepdaughter says, that one is “amazeballs”. (her other favourite is Nutella).
